Patrícia, au pair à Sillingy

I am hereby expressing my interest in helping my fellow human beings and improving the
community in general. As such, I am hereby applying for the position of Social Work.
I have acquired an associate's degree in human services and my coursework focused on sociology,
social sciences, and psychology in order to meet the demands of this job offer. I have a degree in
Socio-Cultural Animation where I had the opportunity to promote several activities with children
in schools; with children and teenagers in a foster home; with children and adults with physical
and mental disabilities in the execution of my final project of my professional course and also with
the elderly in a senior residence.
I had the opportunity to complement my academic training, with a touching and high learning
experience in São Tomé and Príncipe- Africa, where I worked in a shelter home for girls aged 12 to
18 years old, during the week since their homes are too far from the school.
In São Tomé I also worked in an ATL (Free Time Activities) providing study complement to children
from 2nd to 6th grade in Portuguese and Mathematics. Where I developed recreational activities
and services aimed at promoting the improvement of the quality of life of the population, seeking
to ensure access to inclusive and quality education, reducing early school leaving, reducing
inequalities through projects and activities of a social, educational and cultural nature, and access
to basic necessities such as food and clothing, among others.
Upon completing my internship years I am prepared to address any type of social case and have
the ability to deal with various types of situations that may occur, even if they become violent.
I am also prepared to respond to a crisis in a safe and professional manner without losing focus
of the main objective. I am familiar with the rights of citizens, as well as having extensive
knowledge of the state and federal laws surrounding this profession.
I have acquired the ability to assist in the administrative side of social work, such as filling out
paperwork required to handle social situations, updating citizen information, billing, and creating
appointments. I have excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to converse with other
professionals on issues of quality and professionalism. I am able to learn from their life stories and
experiences, as well as gather valuable information about their experience and draw important
lessons for the future.
I realize that this career I want to build can be very challenging and hectic at times, but it can also
be very rewarding, helping others is my passion and that is why I have chosen this very demanding
profession. Filling this position and having this opportunity will give me the chance to do what I
love most, which is to contribute to a better community by helping those in need
