Bethany, jeune fille au pair - HU1 Kingston upon hull

Hi I'm Bethany, I'm 19 and I live in Kingswood, Hull with my family and dog. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, I take regular trips up North to see my dad and a few friends I have there. I am a typical girl who loves her shopping! But I'm quite a home girl, staying in watching movies and reading romance/thriller books. I am a massive animal lover and working with children has always been something I am good at, as I would say I have a caring nature and patience for children.
Over the summer of 2013 I have worked part time in a Nursery in Northumberland, until I moved to Hull in October 2013 where I found full time work at Cherub Nursery. On a daily basis my duties include: caring for the needs of the children, planning activities, daily diaries, communicating with parents and creating a safe and stimulating environment for the children. I have worked in all rooms, ages of 5 months to 4 years old. My main room is working with the babies, I find it very rewarding to see the babies grow and develop during their time with me such as their first movements or their first steps. Doing messy play with them and seeing their reactions to the textures of paint and sensory materials I feel is a special moment. I think its also important to have a bond with them so they feel safe and happy when leaving their parent at the start of the day, which I believe I do have with children I work with. Also within my work I am appointed Health and Safety Officer, my duties are to do a daily and weekly check on any hazards or safety issues that could harm any members of staff or children within the nursery. I do monthly checks on the fire alarm and make sure first aid boxes are up to date, if any problems I review them with my manager.
I have the following training certificates in: Understanding Schemas in Young Children, Safeguarding Children, Child Development Birth to Two Years and Two to Three Years, and I'm First Aid Trained.
