Dear families,
I have been an English and Yoga Teacher for the past two years. Whether working as an English Immersion Teacher in kindergarten and primary school, a Contractual Teacher in middle school and high school, or as a Private English Teacher, I attached great importance to providing a balanced instruction while ensuring that every student feels stimulated to learn in a positive, interactive and creative environment. The best reward is for me measured in students’ engagement and self-empowerment towards their own success.
Meanwhile working as a Youth Yoga Teacher, I taught classes and workshops with various audiences in different settings : after school Kids Yoga with toddlers, day camp Kids Yoga, trauma-informed yoga with teenagers in medicoeducational institutes (MEIs). This practice is for me a beautiful toolkit I can directly use in the English classes, allowing me to cultivate a serene atmosphere, to bring self-awareness tools into the classroom that help students welcome their own learning journey with confidence and resilience.
Previously, I was an Au Pair in the United States for 2 years, and about 1 year in Australia. The result was truly the happiest experiences of my life. I was able to travel through a dozen States and visit wonderful places while working for families with twin infants, toddlers, and children, from 4 months old to 11 years old. My role included all daily routines and tasks from mornings to evenings, instructing the children on proper health and assisting them with personal care habits such as brushing their teeth and bathing them, changing the diapers, and potty training, also cooking and feeding them with bottles or healthy homemade meals, supervising naps and night time. I was eager to engage the children in age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, games, reading, singing, baking, fun obstacle courses, mini-yoga sessions, among many others, to encourage intellectual development and physical exercise. I was driving daily with them for school and after-school activities or for outings at the park, children museum, play dates, trips to the library, or to go shopping and run errands. I was also cooking for the families and maintaining the house, working for up to 50 hours a week.
All along I made sure to create a safe and warm environment for the children to feel confident, grow healthy and strong, to feel loved, and flourish showing their uniqueness while learning how to evolve in harmony with others. I showed support and invited them to freely express their emotions, monitored their behavior, and regularly discussed with the parents to ensure the children’s well-being.
I have built happy, lasting bonds with children and parents alike, based on trust and kindness. I wish to connect in the same genuine way with the next family I will work with, could that be yours.
Sincerely,
Julie
